I know I'm late, but traffic was crazy! Er no - actually, the simplest of simple PJs nearly defeated me! These are the "third time lucky PJs":

These PJs are uber-comfy and I love them! But I had all manner of issues sewing them up, because I thought "instructions, schminstructions - how hard can it be?". Well, first I sewed the front legs together. And serged them. And then realised my mistake. Do you know how long it takes to unpick serged seams?! The second time around, I failed to distinguish between the right and wrong side of fabric and ended up with two of the same leg. Ach. But finally, I made it... and it was worth it.
I used
Simplicity 2328 and a super-snuggly checked flannel from Fabrics Galore.

I'm reading Storm of Swords, by George RR Martin. Not my usual thing, but I'm totally hooked on this series, and was pleased to see that I'm in good company - both
Paunnet and
Amy (of
Sew Well) are reading the same series too.

ReplyDeleteYep, the best pjs are tartan flannel that are just a bit longer than normal trousers....yours are winners! I'm going to check out that book series if its getting so many recommendations...

ReplyDeleteI do love these PJs despite the problems you had. I sewed mine incorrectly too at one point leaving them with short legs and a really long crotch thing...it was weird. So yep...I know how long it takes unpick serged seams...so not fun ;o)
ReplyDeleteThese PJs are super cute! They look totally snuggable. The Song of Fire and Ice series is AMAZING. Don't get attached to ANY of the characters! And here's a piece of George R.R. Martin trivia for you: He got his start writing for soap operas--day and night time. Perhaps the best known: Beauty and the Beast (starring Linda Hamilton--aka Sarah Connor from Terminator--and Ron Perlman). It's on Netflix if you're interested...

Deleteyes, the series is so good but is really emotionally draining - I get too attached to fictional characters, and this series is not good for that habit! Interesting facts - who'd have thought?
