Here's what I have planned for my first few projects.
The Colette Crepe dress
I joined Gertie's Crepe sew along, but with Christmas and a two-week holiday, I've not made much progress. I was a bit intimidated by some of the fitting issues other sewers had, but fortunately my muslin seems to fit fine. I just need to add 1.5" length. I'm using this fabric:
It has a lovely drape and although I loved the print when I bought it, I'm not so sure it will look that great made up. We'll see.
The BurdaStyle Jenny skirt
I've been so inspired by the wonderful Jenny skirts out there: Stitchywitch, Tilly and Karen have made some beautiful versions, as has Sunni (I'll be following her sew along). I simply must have one of my own! I'll be using this cotton sateen:And if all goes well, perhaps another in this navy wool crepe:
Nani Iro top (Simplicity 2593)
I'll probably make view B, without the collar or sleeves, using this:
It's an aubergine colour, even though it looks quite brown here.
The rest of the stash
I've picked up some lovely Liberty lawn fabrics on sale (oh how I love Liberty prints), but I'm going to wait until I'm more confident before touching these. I'll probably use them for dresses.
So that's what I've got in mind. Now I have to find the time to do it all in!
speak soon!
