Sorbetto: second scoop

I present my second Sorbetto:

This time around, I inverted the pleat รก la Casey, for more of a tunic style. I also sized up (my first attempt was a bit snug) and added even more length (in all, 2" at the bottom, 1.5" in the mid-section). I'm really happy with the fit.

I used 0.75m of voile from Anna Maria Horner's Innocent Crush line (on sale at M is for make). This fabric is so lovely - it's soft and buttery and I couldn't stop rubbing it against my cheek when I first bought it. I used every last scrap - I love a project where there's virtually no waste.

I love it! I already have a plan for my next Sorbetto - three is the magic number, afterall.

hurrah for sunny Sundays!

speak soon x

  2. Shivani, that is so pretty - what a gorgeous colour. I think I'll also take my next version out a bit - the first I made was a bit on the snug side! Look forward to seeing number 3!

  3. Ooh, that is nice. Interesting thought to add length at the midriff. I think I need to make mine roomier around the upper chest. It rides up when I'm sat down. Love that fabric.

  9. I love this fabric and it looks lovely on you - very elegant as Roobeedoo says. Does adding length in the midriff area help keep the shape better than just adding it all at the bottom? I'll need to try that for my next one - they are so addictive!

  10. thanks all!

Kathryn: I read somewhere (Fashionable Stitch, I think), that if adding more than 2" in length, the extra should be added in the middle of the piece to help keep the shape. It certainly fits much better than my first Sorbetto - where the length was all at the hem. Love your Liberty one - looking forward to seeing the next one too! x
